The Zweihänder was mostly used by elite German Landsknechts. Most of them used long pikes but a select few on the front line were issued with this sword.

Usually the blade profile is of a convex shape rather than a concave one, kind of like the edge on an axe head which is meant to take a lot of beating and still retain sharpness.
You mean damascus steel blades?? The Europeans never had the knowledge to forge damascus steel as far as I know. If you mean pattern welded steel I don't care much about that... its purely cosmetic.
